Even Three Is A Crowd. If It's Not Insulated, Neither Are You. We Keep Them Up Here For A Reason

Your Cooperative

On November 25, 1935, 17 area men met in Burbank to organize the first rural electric cooperative in South Dakota. This organization was known as Fairview Electric Association and was later renamed Clay-Union Electric. For over 80 years, Clay-Union Electric has been providing excellent customer service and reliable, cost efficient electricity to our members. Our cooperative is owned by those we serve.

Please look around and discover all the things your coop has to offer. If you have any questions or need more information, please contact us.

Petitions are available for a Director Nomination of an individual from district 1 and an individual from district 2.  Pursuant to Section 7, Article 3 of the By-laws of Clay-Union Electric, as amended by the members March 27, 2012, nominations for the Board of Directors of Clay-Union Electric are accomplished by petition.

The petitions must be postmarked no later than January 26, 2018, or be delivered to the office of Clay-Union Electric no later than 4:00 P.M., Friday January 26, 2018. Petitions may be obtained at the office of the cooperative, 1410 East Cherry, in Vermillion, SD. The office is open Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM until 4:00 PM.
