Power Outage Info
Clay-Union Electric works to provide safe and reliable electric service to all co-op members throughout the year. We appreciate your help in making this goal possible. Reliability of service is foremost in our minds. We strive to provide one hundred percent, uninterrupted service. However, with miles of distribution lines and thousands of devices exposed to South Dakota weather, wildlife, trees, etc., this is not always possible.
What To Do If Your Power Goes Off:
- Check your fuses or circuit breakers, including those on the meter pole, to see if they have blown or tripped. (Members may be billed for a service call if the trouble is caused by the member's own fuses or equipment).
- If the problem is not with your electric service, call a neighbor to see if other people are also out of power.
- To report outages or other power quality problems, call 605-624-2673 or 1-800-696-2832. When reporting a problem, give the name on your bill and your location number (as identified on your billing statement/card). If you call at a time other than the regular business hours, the phone will be answered by our after-hours answering service. A crew will be dispatched to your location as soon as possible.
Remember, never go near downed power lines. Treat every electrical line as if it were energized.
