OPERATIONS MANAGER
Clay Union Electric Cooperative, Inc.

Due to an upcoming retirement, Clay Union Electric Cooperative is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Operations Manager.
The individual selected for this position will report to the General Manager and will be responsible for overseeing the design, construction and maintenance of the electric distribution system which consists of approximately 1150 miles of energized overhead and underground line and 4800 AMI functional meters. Will also be responsible for the safe direction of the operations employees, implementation of a cooperative-approved work safety program and will oversee the purchase, replacement and maintenance of the cooperative's fleet of vehicles and construction equipment.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: A Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering is preferred. In lieu of a degree, relative work experience will be considered as follows: minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience in the electric distribution field, 5 years of supervisory experience, journeyman lineman certification, Commercial Driver's License (or ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire), as well as strong communications and computer skills. Experience in meter programming and AMI technology is preferred.
Clay Union Electric Cooperative has a dedicated work force of 18 people, annual revenues of more than $7 million and a utility plant over $23 million. Clay Union Electric is a member of East River Electric Power Cooperative and is located 60 miles south of Sioux Falls.
Clay Union Electric offers a competitive benefit package and salary commensurate with experience and education. This position will be a staff level, salaried position.
